Quassia/Amargo 1 lb. Bulk Powder

Quassia or Amargo (Quassia amara) bark and wood – 16 oz. (1 lb.) bulk powder. 

Please note that due to powder density, this product may ship in one double poly bag or 2 containers of 8 oz. each. 

Bulk orders are prepared once a week. Each order is prepared in the order it is received. Cut-off time for bulk orders is each Thursday at 10 AM  EST.  Orders received after 10 AM EST ship the following week. Thank you for your understanding. 

Preparations

Amargo, a tree with a very bitter flavor, is taken in the form of a tincture, decoction, infusion (tea), and in capsules. Among its main traditional uses, 1 cup of Amargo tea is taken 15 minutes prior to meals to aid digestion*. 

To prepare an infusion of Amargo, place half a teaspoonful of the powdered bark and wood in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow the powder to steep in 1 cup of freshly boiled hot water in a covered ceramic pot for 10–15 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container.
