Brazilian Peppertree (Schinus molle or terebinthis fruit – 16 oz. (1 lb.) bulk powder. Cut & Sifted Pounds and kilos may be available.
Preparations
As its common name implies, the Brazilian Peppertree is an aromatic tree with a spicy flavor. Its various parts, including the leaves, are rich in essential oil. Traditionally, an infusion (tea) is prepared from the leaves and taken at a suggested dosage of half a cup, 2 times daily.
To prepare the infusion, place 15 g of the powdered leaves in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow the powder to steep in 250 mL of freshly boiled hot water in a covered ceramic pot for 10–15 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container.
