Bitter melon 1 lb. Bulk Powder

Bitter Melon (Momordica charantia) leaves– 16 oz. (1 lb.) bulk powder. 

Please note that due to powder density, this product may ship in one double poly bag or 2 containers of 8 oz. each. 

Bulk orders are prepared once a week. Each order is prepared in the order it is received. Cut-off time for bulk orders is each Thursday at 10 AM EST. Orders received after 10 AM EST ship the following week. Thank you for your understanding. 

Preparations

The leaves of Bitter Melon are taken in the form of juice, decoctions, tinctures, and powder and extract powders in capsules. Due to its very bitter taste, the leaves aremore popularly taken in capsules than by the traditional, cultural practice of drinking the juice. By combining the decoction or tincture with sweet-tasting substances, such as Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana) leaf, the bitter taste can to some extent be masked. 

To prepare a decoction of Bitter Melon, use 2 tsp. of the powder for each 8 oz. of water. In an open ceramic pot, bring water to a boil and then add the powder. Reduce the heat to medium-low and place the lid on the pot. Allow the mixture to simmer for 20 minutes. Pour the mixture through a fine strainer and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well sealed container. One cup is taken 1 to 2 times daily.
