Avenca (Adiantum capillus-veneris) leaves – (1 kg.) bulk powder. 

Preparations

The leaves of Avenca are taken in the form of capsules, tinctures, and infusions. An infusion (tea) of the leaves is taken at a dosage of half a cup, 2 times daily. 

To prepare an infusion, place 1 tsp. of the powdered leaves in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow it steep in 8 oz. of freshly boiled hot water in a covered ceramic pot for 10–15 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking.
