Preparations:

Pedra Hume Caá is used in the form a tincture, infusion, and in capsules. Traditionally, the leaves are prepared as an infusion. The suggested dosage is 1 cup, 2 to 3 times daily, with meals.

To prepare an infusion of Pedra Hume Caá, place 1 tsp. of the powdered leaves in a tea ball or gauze bag and allow the powder to steep in 5 oz. (150 mL) of freshly boiled hot water in a covered ceramic pot for 10–15 minutes. Pour the infusion through a fine strainer to remove any sediment and allow it to cool for a time before drinking. Refrigerate unused portions in a well-sealed container.
